Delhi High Court Restrains Action Against Welfare Association Member

Delhi High Court Published August 10, 2026
Case Overview

The Hon’ble Delhi High Court has issued summons in a civil suit challenging a Show Cause Notice issued by the Defence Colony Welfare Association against the Plaintiff, who serves as the Vice-President of the Association’s Administrative Council.

Recognising the urgency of the matter, the Court has directed that all further proceedings pursuant to the impugned Show Cause Notice shall remain in abeyance, thereby restraining the Association from taking any consequential action, including termination of the Plaintiff’s membership, until further orders.

The order provides significant interim protection while the legality of the impugned notice is examined and reinforces the Court’s role in safeguarding procedural fairness pending adjudication.

Foresight Law Offices India represented the Plaintiff before the Hon’ble Delhi High Court.

The matter was handled by Adv. Varun Singh, Founder & Managing Partner, Adv. Alankriti Dwivedi, Senior Associate, and Adv. Somesa Gupta, Associate.
